The food industry sector is developing rapidly, especially in the food additive and packaging sections. Whereas, this issue is a corner reservation of sustainability and availability of food. Moreover, the novel progress approaches related to food nanotechnology are giving great attention to providing safety and quality. Nanotechnology is being used to enhance food availability, taste, and performance by improving packaging storage, preservation, and processing. Nanofiller materials play an important role in this manner due to the ability of functionalization and multipurpose use of the food packaging materials as well as the food itself. Nanofillers such as nanofibers, nanometals, and metal oxides, as well as nanocomposites, can be addictive for the promising feature of packaging materials that is related to the production of high-quality food with low loss and this is the strategy of the world to preserve the limited availability of food for an increasing population. This chapter will present the principal nanofillers and their effects on food and food packaging properties. Additionally, the nanofillers technology and opportunities in this direction will be observed and these new advanced materials are continuously analyzed throughout the chapter.
