Research on Scour-Resistant Interface Enhancers for Improving Coal Seam Cementing Quality
摘要
China has substantial coal-bed methane reserves. The extraction of coal bed methane has been gradually introduced to reduce the risk of gas explosions when mining coal and to maximize the use of coal bed methane. However, the coal bed well walls show oil-wetting and brittleness during coal bed methane extraction, leading to poor cementing quality with cement stones. This issue significantly hampers the effectiveness of cementing at the interface of multi-coal bed methane wells. To assess the effect of interfacial modification, we developed an experimental apparatus for this investigation. Furthermore, we established a comprehensive set of evaluation methods to investigate the effects of interfacial wetting modification. Based on this, we develop a composite interface enhancer that can alter the surface wetting characteristics of coal rock while simultaneously showing resilience to scouring. The wetting angle reaches to 0° after the modification of the coal seam interface, and even after 30 min of scouring, it remained below 30°. The composite interface enhancer exhibits exceptional wetting modification properties and withstands scouring challenges effectively.
