Deployment of artificial intelligence in the engineering domain in oil and gas industries is a subject that is increasingly more considered by engineering firms. The advantages of using AI in oil and gas engineering as well as current trend in application of AI for improving efficiency and effectiveness, especially in service-oriented businesses such as oil and gas engineering service providers, implies that very soon, engineering firms will be forced to use AI to deliver their services. While there are many different levels and methods of using AI as a complementary tools besides other tools and human agents in the engineering firms, the objective of this paper is to elaborate the proposed conceptual framework of Integrated Artificially Intelligent Engineering System (IAIES) to a more detailed design to provide a basic package for implementation. The paper starts with determination of IAIES position in the overall framework of artificial intelligent systems as an assisted intelligence with support of human agent in the loop and development of IAIES to augmented intelligence to cope with adaptive systems with higher complexity. The proposed basic package does benefit the engineering firms to have a roadmap on progressive elaboration of assisted intelligence to an integrated engineering system that delivers engineering design outputs in an integrated package. In addition to that, challenges and threats in deployment of the Integrated Artificially Intelligent Engineering System will be determined and discussed.

摘要
