The environment and human health are threatened globally by air pollution. Emission inventories are a useful tool for comprehending the sources of emissions and their overall effects on the environment. Most cities and nations do not include entire agricultural operations (fertilizer application, crop burning, equipment use, pesticides, livestock management, and tillage) when developing an emission inventory for the agricultural sector. Additionally, there hasn’t been enough work done to improve our understanding of agricultural emissions’ effects on the ecosystem. Due to these factors, this study analyses information from current emission inventories for diverse agricultural operations and evidence from other research on agricultural emissions. After a careful literature review, the lack of high-resolution geographical and temporal data, the absence of information regarding activity data, and the unavailability of region-specific emission factors have been identified as the primary challenges in producing a comprehensive emission inventory for the agricultural sector.
