This study examines budget speeches of the Telangana finance minister (FM), from year 2014 to 24—that is ten years after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Based on the elaboration presented, the researchers have captured the salient themes, objectives, and directions of policies that FM communicated during these years. The final study purposes were realized through the use of extensive analytical techniques like topic modeling using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and keyword extraction. Word cloud construction was also performed for the visualization of the most frequently used terms. Many interesting significant topics were unearthed during the investigation: those involving education, social welfare, agriculture policy, and infrastructure development. Overall, the findings seem to show a change in focus in line with the moving political and economic environment.
