The Future Leadership of Women in the Logistics, Transport and Commodity Sector
摘要
The logistics, transport and commodity industry, a critical part of the global economy, has long been male-dominated, with women underrepresented in leadership roles. This chapter explores the evolving role of women in the industry, focusing on strategies for their career advancement and leadership development. It provides a global overview, highlighting regional differences: North America and Europe show progress through diversity initiatives, while Asia and emerging regions like Africa and Latin America still face significant barriers. Key strategies for promoting female leadership are examined, including gender equality initiatives, mentorship and sponsorship programs, and access to education and training. The importance of flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance is also emphasized as essential for women’s retention and career growth. Drawing from case studies and examples, this chapter outlines the path forward for increasing women’s leadership in the logistics, transport and commodity industry.
