The Design and Verification of a Novel Combined Load Simulator for the Servomechanism of Spacecrafts with Gimbaled Engine

A novel combined loading simulator capable of simulating the moment of inertia, elastic moment, Coulomb friction moment and other associated torque simultaneously, is designed to evaluate the dynamic performance of the actuators employed in Thrust Vector Control (TVC) of the gimbaled engine. The moment of inertia and elastic moment are passively applied when the nozzle is driven by the gimbaled actuators. The thrust leading to friction moment, is generated by a servo cylinder axially via a spherical joint-based parallel linkage mechanism, which can decouple the axial and lateral load physically. And other additional moment is produced by the lateral loading system. Experimental results showed that the proposed load simulation system can both simulate the axial and lateral load suffered by servomechanism with an expected accuracy and thus can be adopted in semi-physical experiments.
