The technology of electric propulsion is an important means to enhance the carrying capacity and design lifespan of geostationary orbit(GEO) satellite platforms, position protection management of electric propulsion is significant part of its assignment support. In response to the frequent and high autonomy requirements of the electric propulsion position preservation control process, as well as the close coupling with the design of control and propulsion system schemes, this paper studies the management method of position preservation control, analyzes the task requirements of the research object, clarifies the characteristics of control strategy, and the design principles, main functions, and implement process of autonomous management in practical applications. Furthermore, a preliminary design of the position protection control autonomous management software framework is provided.
