In the process of tracking space targets by video satellites, tracking is usually realized on the basis of image feedback. By adjusting the pointing of the satellite camera, the projection of the target in the camera’s horizon is always kept in a fixed area, which is conducive to the observation and tracking of the target by the video satellite. Aiming at the problem of adjusting controller parameters in the process of tracking non-cooperative targets by video satellite, a method is presented for optimizing controller parameters by genetic algorithm. From simulation data, it indicates that the optimized controller parameters achieve the expected effect and the tracking performance is significantly improved.
