Vestibular migraine is diagnosed mainly based on complaints and clinical features. Nonetheless, vestibular testing and investigations are important to rule out other causes of vertigo. The physiology of the vestibular system can be assessed through the evaluation of reflexes and eye movements using tests such as videonystagmography, electronystagmography, head impulse testing, and vestibular-evoked myogenic potential testing. The diagnostic criteria of vestibular migraine, probable vestibular migraine, and recurrent vertigo of childhood are discussed.
