Radiation Therapy
摘要
Soft tissue sarcoma represents less than 1% of all cancers. Unlike other cancers, lymph node involvement is usually low (<10%) and hence regional lymph node radiation is not needed. Lymph node involvement is, however, more common with epithelioid, clear cell, rhabdomyosarcoma, and cutaneous angiosarcoma and adequate surgical and imaging staging need to be taken into account when patient is referred for radiation. The tumour usually spread locally through the path of less resistance and hence consideration of adequate superior and inferior aspects of the cancer coverage with radiation is important. The use of radiation is divided into neoadjuvant, adjuvant and in metastatic setting for palliative control of symptoms.
