In the past decade, bone and soft tissue tumour pathology has witnessed a rapid and profound evolution from a primarily lineage and phenotypic-based classification to a more genomic-based tumour classification. Both novel newly defined tumours and older established entities are now characterized or reclassified based on their unique or recurrent genomic signatures.
