Mr. X was a 38-year-old male with no significant medical history who had presented with urinary retention. He had transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) and was diagnosed to have a benign cyst. Six months later, he represented with further urinary retention and TURP repeated. He was deemed to have a local recurrence of another benign cyst. Three months later, he represented with urinary retention. Cystoscopy showed he had another cyst, and he underwent a third TURP. He was treated with antibiotics for presumed prostatitis, but his condition did not improve.
