This chapter consists of three main sections, namely, synthetic examples, benchmark examples, and biometric authentication examples. The section on synthetic examples provides low dimensional data constructions to aid understanding of the underlying fundamental concepts. Without needing to dwell into the often specialized data preprocessing and extraction processes, the readers can readily observe the effect of classification algorithms on representative one- and two-dimensional data with intuitive interpretation.
