HVFA-SCC Beam Under Short-Term Sustained Loading

High Volume Fly Ash Self Compacting Concrete (HVFA-SCC) represents a novel innovation in concrete technology, addressing environmental concerns while delivering performance comparable to conventional concrete. However, research on HVFA-SCC, particularly at the structural level, remains limited, necessitating further studies to better understand its behavior and potential applications. This research aims to investigate the behavior of HVFA-SCC beams under short-term sustained loading conditions. A beam with dimensions of 300 mm width, 125 mm height, and 3200 mm length was subjected to a constant load equivalent to 60% of its ultimate static load capacity for a duration of 120 days. The beam was designed to undergo flexural failure and was composed of a concrete mix with 60% fly ash as a partial cement replacement. The deflection of the HVFA-SCC beam were monitored throughout the laboratory loading tests.
