Caste and Politics in India

Many have argued that Indian society is mostly based on caste-based concepts and social interactions. Indian politics, according to some, is a mess. According to my argument, an influential version of the first assertion is based upon several theoretical errors, and a simple version of the second, which accepts these errors and takes a shorter view of the facts, is at best partially true even when corrected.
