A Switchable Topology for Inductive Power Transfer System to Achieve Multiple Constant Voltage Output

This paper presents a multi-constant output voltage based on an inductive power transfer (IPT) system. The proposed system can realize the constant voltage output of three voltage requirements in only one IPT system and ensure the simple and convenient structure of the receiver. Compared with previous systems, the advantage of the proposed system is that only the switching of the primary side circuit without the complex controller achieves three kinds of output voltages on the secondary side. At the same time, the design process of system parameters is simple and easy to implement. First, the basic structure of the proposed system is given, and the constraints of the components that satisfy the constant output are given; Then, the working principle of the circuit under the three modes and the system characteristics are analyzed; The design flow of the system parameters is given; Finally, a simulation with Maxwell tool was built with a designed example of three output voltage IPT system. Simulation results show that the output voltages of the three modes are 21.8V, 33.8V, and 68.6V, respectively, at the rated load. When the load is switched to the doubled values, the output voltages are 22.4V, 34V, and 68.9V, respectively. The voltage fluctuation is less than 2%. The simulation results verified the feasibility and correctness of the proposed system.
