The fusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) is revolutionizing the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) by integrating ground-breaking tools that foster improved learning experiences. This research focuses on investigating the habits, interests and familiarity of students with AI-powered language tools. A sample of 100 Graduate Marine Engineering students from AMET University, Tamil Nadu, has been taken for the research. By means of the tools like questionnaires and interviews, sufficient quantitative and qualitative data are gathered for analysis. The data-based evaluation of the current usage pattern and preferences of the sample population aims at providing a basis for future integration of AI technology in improving and enriching English language expertise. Moreover, it throws light into the challenges to be anticipated and addressed in this area in future.
