A Suitability Evaluation Method for Multiple-energy Storage Technology Based on Combination Weighting

Energy storage plays a critical role in supporting the New Power System. However, with the diverse forms and operational scenarios of New Power System and the varying characteristics of multiple energy storage, it lacks a quantitative analysis to determine whether multiple energy storage is suitable for New Power System. Therefore, this work proposes a method for evaluating the suitability of multiple energy technologies based on the different application scenario requirements of New Power System and the various characteristics of energy storage. Firstly, it briefly introduces the various types of energy storage and their characteristics. Secondly, it establishes a suitability evaluation index system for multiple energy storage technology. Thirdly, combined weighting of level difference maximization method with the analytic hierarchy process and the entropy method, it proposes an evaluation method for the suitability of multi-energy technologies. Finally, it uses the peak-shaving and frequency modulation scenarios in the power grid and current mainstream energy storage technology indicators as examples, the effectiveness of the multi-energy technology suitability evaluation system is validated.
