This research aims to identify the prospects for bridging the gap between the higher education market and the labor market in healthcare in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The research provides an empirical analysis of digital health in Russia and the need to fill competency gaps and ensure lifelong learning for healthcare personnel. This research contributes to the literature by clarifying the scope and prospects for bridging the gap between the higher education market and the labor market in healthcare. As a result, the author revealed a significant scope of gaps in the competencies of healthcare personnel. Using the case study method, the author analyzes the practical experience of filling competency gaps and promoting lifelong learning for healthcare professionals at the Mentoring Laboratory “Capital of Russia.” The considered laboratory is based at the Institute of Scientific Communications (ISC) and is supported by the Sustainability and Technology Leadership Consortium. The theoretical significance of the research findings is that they formed the theoretical and methodological basis for implementing the concept of lifelong learning in healthcare. The practical significance of the research lies in the fact that the author’s recommendations for the continuous filling of competence gaps and lifelong learning of healthcare personnel in various forms of training based on mentoring laboratories help bridge the gap between the higher education market and the labor market in healthcare.
