In this chapter, we provide a comprehensive overview of the principles behind the ptychographic iterative engine (PIE) and its related algorithms. We trace the development of PIE, from its initial conception to its extended versions and other algorithmic advancements. Additionally, we express the basic structures of different ptychography imaging systems and explore the application of ptychography imaging in various fields, highlighting its potential and versatility in high-resolution imaging.
