Although these techniques generally yield excellent cosmetic results, they have certain limitations and are associated with approach-specific complications. KQ 15.2. Complications associated with the transaxillary approach for endoscopic or robotic thyroid surgery are categorized into thyroidectomy-related and technique-related types. Technique-related complications are related to the transaxillary approach, and complications to note include axillary skin flap perforation and transient brachial nerve paralysis. Meticulous surgical techniques and individualized patient care can minimize these complications. Surgeons must be aware of the potential risks and be prepared to manage complications effectively.
