A hybrid DC/DC converter featuring five power channels has been proposed for use in medium voltage DC (MVDC) systems, aiming to fulfill the requirements of low voltage stress and high power. This converter comprises LLC and phase-shifted bridge (PSB) channels. The LLC channel is responsible for transmitting the main power with high efficiency, ensuring zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for all switches across the full load range. Meanwhile, the PSB channel achieves a wide output voltage range through phase shift modulation. By tuning the five-level duty cycle of the PSB channel, further reductions in current stress on the magnetic components and output voltage ripple can be achieved. Finally, a 1 kW prototype has been constructed to validate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed converter. The designed prototype has a wide output voltage range and achieves a peak efficiency of 95.9%.
