The chapter offers a comprehensive analysis of the Slovak digital economy, focusing on the assessment provided by the DESI index and its indicators in four key areas: human capital, connectivity, integration of digital technology and digital public services. It also compares Slovakia’s performance in these areas with that of other European countries. The chapter highlights Slovakia’s position in various international rankings related to digital economy development and explores strategic initiatives that could further enhance the country’s digital economy. The chapter’s added value lies in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the digital economy in Slovakia, as well as the main challenges for future development when compared to an optimal digital economic ecosystem.
