摘要
Learning from Country (LFC) offers an ongoing process that educators can connect with to support their engagement and relationship with Country. In this final chapter, we draw together the elements of the LFC FrameworkLearning from Country Framework to reflect on critical lessons for improving the quality of teaching in Aboriginal education and curriculum for Aboriginal and indeed all children in Australia. We have argued that central to creating thriving contexts for schooling is providing opportunities and reflective guidance for preservice teachersPreservice teachers and university educators to develop their critical consciousnessCritical consciousness through learning from Country and deep listeningDeep listening to Aboriginal community-based educatorsAboriginal community-based educators. As we have shown, the examples from the three case studies shed light on how the LFC Framework can be used in a range of educational contexts if the foundational underpinnings and commitments to Country and relationship building with Aboriginal communities are honoured. In this book, we have outlined examples of this implementation and its potential—as well as the importance of maintaining commitments to Country. We begin this concluding chapter by summarising each chapter, outlining key arguments and insights, and then discussing the key learnings that we see as important.
