Effective teamwork is essential in software development, but many teams struggle with collaboration and performance. The Big Five personality traits—openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism—significantly influence team dynamics and performance, yet their specific impact on agile teams is underexplored. This study examines the correlation between team members’ Big Five traits, their perceptions of team activities, and project outcomes, using the PAPERS framework. Analyzing data from multiple agile teams, we find that conscientiousness and extraversion are key to team success, particularly in fostering self-learning and collaboration. Our research offers insights for educators and team leaders to better manage and enhance team dynamics in software engineering.

摘要
