Integrating Dual Steganographic Techniques in VoIP Communication

Steganography, a method for concealing secret information within seemingly innocuous multimedia files, has emerged as a potent tool for safeguarding sensitive data. By embedding data within these files, the need for securing communication channels is circumvented, thus enabling the transmission of secret messages covertly. However, a major challenge in steganography lies in maximizing the amount of information that can be embedded without compromising the integrity of the carrier file or raising suspicion. Voice over Internet Protocol communication presents a fertile ground for covert communication due to its widespread use and the inherent characteristics of its protocols. This paper focuses on concealing messages within the Real-time Transport Protocol, a fundamental component of VoIP communication, through steganographic techniques. This paper presents an innovative approach by integrating the Lost Audio Packet (LACK) technique with the Least Significant Bit embedding, while also exploring variations in LSB embedding. Additionally, an IP tunnel is established between the sender and receiver to ensure a secure connection and communication channel, further enhancing the robustness and security of the embedding process. We have evaluated the performance using metrics like packet loss, jitter, and mean optional score.
