Application of Bioremediation Using Nanoparticles
摘要
The growing population, industrialization, and urbanization contribute to the daily rise in environmental pollution. Bioremediation is a process that uses the property of microorganisms that metabolize contaminants and clean the environment by utilizing low-cost technology that is accepted by people and sometimes done on-site. Bioremediation, leveraging biological processes to remediate environmental contaminants, is increasingly being integrated with nanotechnology, particularly through the green synthesis of nanoparticles. This synergistic approach exploits the unique physicochemical properties of nanoparticles synthesized via eco-friendly methods involving plant extracts, microorganisms, and other biological entities. The green synthesis of nanoparticles is becoming more popular since it is more affordable and scalable and has less environmental impact as compared to traditional methods. These biogenic nanoparticles have shown potential in environmental remediation as recent studies show how well they break down different pollutants including organic toxins, heavy metals, and dyes.
