Architectures in Northern & Southern Song Dynasties
摘要
The Northern Song Dynasty (960–1127) established its capital in Bianliang, also known as Dongjing (the east capital, in contrast to Luoyang city, which was referred to as Xijing, i.e., the west capital), which corresponds to modern-day Kaifeng city. Bianliang was encircled by a three-tiered wall system. The central core was the Imperial City, where the emperor conducted state affairs and resided.
