To solve the problem that a bridge erecting machine cannot move the first span box girder in place at one time under the widening design condition of the bridge connecting with a tunnel, based on the project example of Zhugou Bridge of Baoping Expressway, through the method of combination of scheme comparison and engineering verification, a construction method of transverse installation of box girder is proposed. Guarantee measures of box girder sliding transverse movement limit, guarantee measures to prevent box girder from overturning, measures of synchronizing both ends of box girder transverse movement and attitude adjustment are given.
