Foreign Monks’ Social Adaptation: A Case Study of Burmese Monks in Mangdan Buddhist Temple in Husa Town, Dehong Prefecture
摘要
In Dehong Prefecture, “it has been common that there are no monks in temples.” To maintain a normal religious life, believers in many villages invite Burmese monks to preside over Buddhist activities. This situation also exists in Achang area. As the most concentrated area of Achang ethnic group, only 7 of the 41 monasteries in Husa Achang Ethnic Town have monks, and the monks in 6 of them are Myanmarese.
