Religious and Secular Significance of “Offerings” in the Lives of the Bulang People: A Case Study of Bulangshan Town in Xishuangbanna Prefecture

Distributed along the Lancang River in southwest China, the members of the Bulang people live with the members of the Dai people after long-term migration, and accepted the Southern Buddhism in the long-term communication with the Dai people. Consequently, the Southern Buddhism and the primitive religions have developed together and influenced each other in modern times. For a long time, the members of the Bulang people were separated from the outside world in transportation, and maintained a relatively simple social structure.
