In recent years, there has been a growing interest in how teacher attrition, the rate of teachers leaving the profession, is related to teacher job satisfaction and the teachers’ emotional well-being. Based on Bandura’s triadic reciprocal determinism theory, this mixed study explores the main factors affecting job satisfaction and teacher attrition in post-pandemic times among 100 English as a Foreign language (EFL) teachers in Nuevo León, Mexico. Using an adapted Likert-scale questionnaire and four open-ended questions, data suggest that although more than half of the participants are willing to stay in teaching, some possible factors will make them leave the profession soon. Students and personal growth are among the most rewarding factors of English teaching, while the most dissatisfying refer to parents’ connection and school climate. Though it was concluded that the pandemic was not as influential as other factors regarding teachers’ job satisfaction and attrition, some implications to school administrations and authorities in ELT are addressed in the study.
