Structural Performance of Axially Loaded UPVC—Encased Circular Concrete Columns
摘要
This study investigates the structural performance of axially loaded UPVC-encased circular concrete columns, aiming to enhance strength, durability, and deformation capacity. Various columns with UPVC tubes (diameters: 160 mm, 110 mm, 90 mm) and PPC concrete mixes (M15, M20, M25) were tested under axial compression. The yield load–displacement curve and specimen deformation patterns were analyzed, documenting shear and macrocracking failures in all specimens. The results show that UPVC encasement improves load-bearing capacity, enhances deformation capacity, and delays the onset of cracks. The specimen with a 160 mm diameter and M25 concrete mix exhibited the highest performance, achieving an ultimate load of 653 KN. These findings demonstrate that UPVC offers a promising and cost-effective alternative for structural applications by improving strength, durability, and crack resistance.
