Impact of Use of Marble Waste on the Properties of Light Transmitting Concrete

In numerous Indian states, marble mining and block production are both quite popular. However, because of the enormous amount of marble sludge produced by the processing businesses, its broad expansion has had a negative influence on the environment. The effects of using marble debris on the characteristics of light transmitting concrete (LTCM) are the main topic of this experimental investigation. This experimental program’s primary objective is to determine whether using marble waste as an aggregate would increase light transmittance in concrete and determine the best ratio of quarry dust and marble powder to replace river sand in concrete. To measure compressive strength, permeability, and flexural strength, six proportions of mix with marble waste substituted for fine aggregate were tested. As a consequence, all these qualities were enhanced to allow for a complete replacement of fine aggregate with marble powder from the experiment. In order to determine if LTCM can improve its light transmittance, 75 and 100% substitutions of fine aggregates were conducted. A 100% marble powder mix had a light transmittance of 44% compared to a 0% marble powder control mix.
