This chapter delves into the intricate strategies employed by academic libraries to drive sustainability within esteemed Malaysian research universities. By drawing on an extensive literature review and conducting in-depth interviews with top management and academic librarians, the study unveils their pivotal roles in campus sustainability. The focus lies on knowledge and awareness, advocacy and leadership, and engagement and participation domains. Empirical evidence from the UI Green University Ranking situates the universities within the global sustainability context, affirming their commitment. The findings underscore academic librarians as powerful change agents in sustainability, offering valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in academic library sustainability. This chapter highlights academic libraries’ contributions to sustainability, impacting higher education decision-making and the global discourse on nurturing sustainability in academic settings.
