Carbon Nanotube Coated Biochar-Based Composites and Their Applications
摘要
Carbon based nanomaterials have grabbed the interest of the research fraternity because of their remarkable properties. These nanomaterials include Carbon Nano-Tubes (CNTs), graphene, graphene oxide (GO). However their exorbitant price hinders their large scale practical applications. Biochar (BC) being an economical and easy to prepare material is there to fill the gap. The incorporation of other carbonaceous materials with BC enhances its properties remarkably. Additionally, because these composites are less expensive, makes commercialization of these possible for practical applications. The salient characteristics of BC and CNTs are discussed in this chapter along with the synthesis of the BC-CNTs nano-composites and their application in various fields. The factors governing the activity and the efficiency of the nano-composites are discussed. Further, the benefits and the concerns related with the application of the BC-CNTs nano-composites with a future looking approach are explored.
