Name Rectification of Tea Poetry and Tea Tao in Song Dynasty
摘要
Confucius said, “The uttermost important action is to rectify names.” He then added, “When the names aren’t right, language doesn’t accord with the truth of things. When language doesn’t accord with the truth of things, nothing can be carried out successfully.” Likewise, a poem containing the word tea may not, strictly speaking, be categorized as Tea Poetry. As for Tea Tao, the connotation is even more complex and perplexing. Therefore, it is only proper for me to begin the book with the rectification of names.
