Artificial intelligence has gained greater attention as an invaluable technology for improving the operations of different business sectors. However, it is uncertain how agripreneurs (farm entrepreneurs) in emerging contexts are harnessing this new technology to improve farm operations. With the lack of research on technology supporting agripreneurs, the researcher explored the effectiveness of AI in increasing the production and profitability of resource-constraint farms in an emerging context. Drawing on a systematic literature review, the study explored how agricultural entrepreneurs are deploying various components and architectures of AI in their businesses. Results suggested that AI has various benefits for increasing production and profitability in agribusiness. However, findings show that adoption of new technologies in agribusiness poses serious challenges due to a lack of technical skills, cost, and data. The study showcases how farm entrepreneurs can adopt AI technology to increase productivity and profitability, thereby enriching the theorization and practice of technology-supported agriculture.
