Computation of Mellin Moments of Quark and Gluon Distributions
摘要
Parton distribution functions (PDFs) illustrate the probability distributions of quarks and gluons, collectively known as partons, within the nucleus. In this paper, the behaviour of parton distributions over a range of momentum fractions and momentum transfers has been studied to comprehend the dynamics of parton interactions. Mellin moments of quark and gluon distributions have also been computed. They provide significant information about the distribution of momenta of partons within a hadron. Different Mellin moments are connected with the contributions of quarks and gluons to the overall parton distributions and thus quantify the parton correlations in a non-perturbative framework.
