Based on the Waterproof Coating, the Performance of Polylactic Acid Was Improved Under Wet and Hot Aging Environment
摘要
In recent years, the use of renewable bioplastics as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based non-renewable plastics has attracted widespread attention. Polylactic acid is one of the most promising bio-based plastics, but its easy hydrolysis characteristics have led to its application in the electrical field. Based on the waterproofing coating treatment, the mechanical and electrical properties of PLA under hot and humid conditions were studied. The experimental results showed that after aging at 70 °C and 80% relative humidity for 126 h, the bending strength of PLA decreased sharply by more than 90%. Moreover, after the waterproof coating isolated the moisture, it was difficult to significantly alleviate the decline in mechanical properties. However, under the same aging time, the breakdown voltage of PLA decreased by about 13%, indicating that the fracture of the internal molecular chain segment of PLA had little effect on the insulation properties. This study gives some guidance to improve the performance of polylactic acid in hot and humid environment, and promotes the application of polylactic acid in the field of electrical insulation.
