This paper focuses on the application of the 2D axisymmetric model of transformers in calculating leakage magnetic fields, copper losses, Lorentz forces, and eddy current losses in windings. By using an equivalent 2D model, the study explores the performance of eddy current and copper losses and introduces the calculation method for Lorentz forces to assess their thermodynamic effects on transformer windings. The results demonstrate that the 2D model offers high accuracy and practicality in simulating the electromagnetic characteristics and loss distribution of transformers. The reliability and accuracy of the model were repeatedly verified through numerical calculations, providing valuable insights for optimizing transformer design and fault diagnosis.
