Solenoid valves are widely used in nuclear power plants. Some of them are related to nuclear safety, and their operation status is directly related to the safety production of nuclear power plants. In this paper, the failure events of solenoid valves in a nuclear power group in recent ten years are analyzed, the common failure phenomena and failure mechanism of solenoid valves are analyzed, and the necessity of improving the reliability of solenoid valves is explained. Then, aiming at the typical fault events of the trip solenoid valve in a special safety system of a nuclear power plant, the fault tree analysis method is adopted. Through the analysis process of function test, macro observation analysis of solenoid valve, micro observation analysis and energy spectrum analysis of solenoid valve components, reliability management analysis of solenoid valve, the failure mechanism of solenoid valve is deeply explored, and the shortcomings of reliability management of solenoid valve in the whole life cycle are found. Finally, from the aspects of design, selection, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of solenoid valve, the management method of improving the reliability of the whole life of solenoid valve is put forward.
