Reliability Study of Cantilever Sheet Pile Coupled with Limit Equilibrium & Finite Element Approaches
摘要
The reliability study of a cantilever sheet pile wall penetrated into a cohesive soil and backfilled with granular soil is investigated using the traditional limit equilibrium method combined with the finite element method via the commercially available software Abaqus, factoring ambiguity of soil properties. The statistical fitting of random variables is performed using R-programming and Probability of failure is computed by developing the response surface method based on the finite element model and limit the state equilibrium model. For the finite element model, deflection was considered as the dependent variable and for limit equilibrium model, factor of safety was considered. F-test analysis is used to determine the sensitivity of each random variable, and risk factors are developed. Furthermore, the change in sensitivity for different levels of covariance is studied.
