Cyber-attacks on industrial control systems are very common and have been happening from very beginning of industry level 3.0. Currently majority of industries are following industry level 4.0 and moving slowly toward 5.0. Multiple attacks have been already performed on industrial control systems, and still it’s quite mysterious when it is getting compared with traditional IT (Information Technology). This paper is going to discuss challenges and controls which can be implemented for any SCADA network. It will also discuss how to implement security controls for each Purdue level of SCADA network and how it is different from traditional IT security.
