In this chapter, the rotor dynamics of rotor bearing systems with rigid and elastic support will be reviewed first. Once the mechanism and dynamics of basic rotor bearing systems are understood, complex rotor dynamics of journal bearing rotor system should be discussed. Then the literature survey of periodic solutions of continuous and discrete nonlinear dynamic systems is given. When the literature survey of rotor dynamics and nonlinear dynamics is finished, the objectives and significance of the research will be brought out.

In this chapter, the rotor dynamics of rotor bearing systems with rigid and elastic support will be reviewed first.
