Transporters driven by the hydrolysis energy of ATP are the delta force among transporters and usually show a stronger attacking power than secondary active transporters. What is the evolutionary relationship between such primary active transporters and secondary active transporters? How should the ATP hydrolysis cycle and the substrate transport cycle be coupled? This chapter focuses on two types of transporters driven by ATP hydrolysis, the P-type ATPase and ABC transporter families, and takes the bacterial lipopolysaccharide transport system as an example to discuss a more complex transport system driven by ABC transporters.

摘要

Transporters driven by the hydrolysis energy of ATP are the delta force among transporters and usually show a stronger attacking power than secondary active transporters. What is the evolutionary relationship between such primary active transporters and secondary active transporters? How should the ATP hydrolysis cycle and the substrate transport cycle be coupled? This chapter focuses on two types of transporters driven by ATP hydrolysis, the P-type ATPase and ABC transporter families, and takes the bacterial lipopolysaccharide transport system as an example to discuss a more complex transport system driven by ABC transporters.
