From a global viewpoint, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for every region, country, state, or district are equally important. Development can be understood through a variety of sociological and psychological frameworks. The diverse landscape of Northeast India (NEI) presents a multitude of concerns and obstacles to sustainable development. Out of 103 districts that were reviewed, 62.1% were classified as Front Runners on all 17 SDGs, while 37.9% were classified as Performers, according to the available statistics. East Sikkim, Gomati, North Tripura, West Tripura, and Serchhip are the five districts in Northeast India that performed the best in terms of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Many differences are evident in the indicators used to measure progress toward SDG 3 and SDG 6. Pregnant women in the Tuensang District of Nagaland had the lowest score at 4.9 out of a possible 124.8 in the Imphal West District of Manipur. The proportion of rural residents receiving potable water from piped sources is also highest in Kolasib district, Mizoram, at 97.5%, and lowest in Darrang district, Assam, at 1.44%. Some states and districts are doing better than others on some metrics, but not all of them. Consequently, that's where the focus should lie.
