Empowering Marginalized Minds: A Roadmap for Equitable Education Reform in India
摘要
The issue of caste-based discrimination in education and the lack of representation of marginalized communities in the education sector in India has been a major concern for many decades. However, despite several efforts, the educational disparities faced by marginalized students in India remain a persistent challenge. This has resulted in an education gap between marginalized and non-marginalized communities. This paper aims to examine the significance of addressing caste-based discrimination in schools using a subaltern framework. Besides this, it argues that increasing the representation of marginalized communities in the education sector is crucial for ensuring that marginalized students have equal access to quality education and can realize their constitutional right to education. The paper concludes that community-based solutions, in addition to policy changes, are necessary for addressing the educational disparities faced by marginalized students in India.
