Additive manufacturing has revolutionized the manufacturing landscape, providing rapid production capabilities and unparalleled design flexibility. However, despite its vast potential, additive manufacturing (AM) faces, major threats such as post-processing requirements, high cost, material demerits, scalability, porosity, warpage, shrinkage, quality control issues etc. Despite these challenges, the future scope of additive manufacturing appears promising, with ongoing research and development focusing on addressing these limitations and expanding the range of applications Hence, in this chapter various challenges associated with AM along with future scope are discussed in this chapter. The future scope lies in addressing these threats through advances in material science, process optimization, and machine learning.

摘要
